Protein Hot Chocolate
Protein Hot Chocolate delivers 70 g of protein for just 12 g net carbs — ready in about 8 minutes. That's enough high-quality protein in one sitting to clear the leucine threshold for muscle repair.
Ingredients
- 60 g Whey or casein protein powder (chocolate)
- 400 ml Skim milk
- 16 g Powdered peanut butter (PB2)
- Cocoa powder & sweetener, to taste
Equipment
- saucepan
Method
- Warm the milk gently (don't boil).
- Whisk in the protein, PB powder, cocoa and sweetener until smooth and frothy.
- Pour into a mug and enjoy warm.
Storage & make-ahead
Best blended fresh. Pre-portion the dry ingredients ahead so it's a 60-second job when you want it.
Tip
Casein protein makes an especially creamy, slow-digesting bedtime hot chocolate. 70 g protein in a mug.
Dietary swaps
Dairy-free: Whey or casein protein powder (chocolate) → pea or other plant protein powder; Skim milk → soy, oat, or almond milk (for lactose intolerance or a dairy-free diet)
Nut-free: Powdered peanut butter (PB2) → sunflower-seed butter (e.g. SunButter) (for nut allergies — seeds work just as well)
